Throwing a March Madness party is quite easy, especially with Eco Party Warehouse's disposable eco-friendly dinnerware. Ingredients:

• 12 oz. orange candy melts
• ¼ C. black candy melts
• 1 package of chocolate sandwich cookies
• Small sandwich bag
• Scissors

Directions:

1. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the orange candy melts, stirring every 30 seconds until melted. Let cool 2-3 minutes before dipping your cookies.
2. Dip the cookies one at a time in the chocolate covering both sides. Lift out with a fork and lay on a cookie sheet or wax paper (see photos).
3. Once all the cookies are dipped, let set in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.
4. Once the cookies are set, melt the ¼ C. black candy melts in a microwave-safe disposable eco-friendly bowl, again stirring every 30 seconds until melted. Let cool 3-4 minutes.
5. Once the black chocolate is cool enough, scoop it into the small sandwich bag, and using the scissors, snip the end, making a small hole (you do not want it too large - otherwise, the chocolate will drip everywhere).
6. Using the sandwich bag, pipe the first 3 basketball lines onto the cookies. Repeat with all cookies. Once all cookies have 3 lines, place them back into the fridge for another 5-10 minutes to let set.
7. Finally, add the third line across your cookies to complete the basketball transformation. Let them rest for at least 30 minutes (15-20 in the fridge) before serving.

Servings: 10; Time: 15 minutes; Difficulty: easy

 

Ingredients:

• 16 oz good quality chocolate (I used 10 oz dark chocolate and 6 oz milk chocolate)
• 1/3 cup cocoa (loosely packed)
• 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (loosely packed)
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• Optional toppings

 

Directions: 

1. Chop up the chocolate into small pieces and melt over a double boiler (try not to get any water into the chocolate - or it will seize up).
2. Once the chocolate is completely melted, stir in the cocoa, powdered sugar, and salt. It will initially look clumpy, but continue stirring until there are no lumps left and the mixture looks glossy and smooth.
3. Take everything off the heat and transfer the chocolate mixture into a piping bag or ziplock bag.
4. Pipe chocolate mixture into a clean ice cube tray. Add toppings if you would like, and then top with compostable spoons. Pop in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes and check/adjust the spoons to ensure they are straight. Refrigerate for another 45 minutes or until completely set.
5. Now, when it's all done, just warm a mug of milk on the hob or in the microwave, pop the chocolate spoon in the mug, and stir until it melts away.

Fun Topping Ideas For Hot Chocolate Spoons:

I don't think anyone would be sad to get a 'plain' hot chocolate spoon, but I love jazzing the hot chocolate spoons up with a little topping option (or two!). Here are a few to try:

• Mini chocolate chips.
• Marshmallows.
• Sprinkles.
