      Celebrate Memorial Day in Eco-Style

Memorial Day is right around the corner, and it’s time to start preparing for this year’s celebration. Yet unfortunately, Memorial Day is another holiday that we must celebrate differently this year. While the prospect of having a Memorial Day weekend picnic with friends and family is off the table due to the uncertain circumstances of coronavirus and quarantine restrictions, and saddest of all, most public Memorial Day parades have been canceled, it does not mean that you have to give up on your Memorial Day celebration. Although our plans may be a little different this year, there are still ways to enjoy Memorial Day weekend with your family while staying safe and obeying social distancing guidelines. Get your family together for an old-fashioned cookout with a new (and green!) twist! And you don't need to go far to enjoy a meal in the sun. Heading to your backyard barbequing instead of a local park gives you the same appreciation for the beauty of the earth and the taste of your food.

Barbeque doesn’t have to be wasteful or harmful to the environment. In keeping with our tradition of helping you coast through the most special times of the year while keeping your green reputation intact, we’ve collected just a few Eco Party tips for being a bit greener this Memorial Day and make the holiday a complete success:

Start with Eco Party Warehouse Partyware.

First things first, you’ve got to have biodegradable and compostable eco-friendly dinnerware. Forget about those plastic pieces you are used to - we’ve got a collection of beautiful bagasse and palm leaf tableware that provide the best way to set your tables with sustainability and style. Check out our eco-friendly dinnerware, including plates, bowls, utensils, trays, accessories, and more.

Buy ingredients from a local farmer or purveyor.

If you have a local farmer's organic market in your community, start cultivating a greater appreciation of food by shopping there.

      Change the grilling techniques.

When cranking up the grill, one green Eco Party tip would be to rethink your grilling methods.  Instead of using charcoal, which emits dangerous toxins into the air, consider using grills with propane gas, natural gas, or solar energy.  Using these alternative sources reduces air pollution.

      Get creative with dessert decorating.

Sweet treats are a major part of the Memorial Day celebration that can also be used to take your holiday decor up a notch. Make your treats red, white, and blue and creatively display them on Eco Party's white bagasse plates to make your food presentation stand out. You can, for example, chop up some strawberries and bananas and set them in our natural rectangular palm leaf tray with some blueberries in one corner to form an American flag giving a charming festive appeal to your countertop decor.

Don’t let anything go to waste.

At the end of the night, there’s the inevitable clean up and the usual throw-out. But you don’t have to let your leftovers contribute to our landfills. Simply use take out containers so you can keep the leftovers. And you also don't have to worry about washing the pile of dishes - Eco Party Warehouse tableware provides convenient cleanup for you and the Planet, you can only choose whether you want to compost, toss them out, or throw them into the fire pit.

The best way to celebrate and memorialize life is to celebrate life, therefore enjoy a safe and environmentally friendly Memorial Day and don't forget to check out our online store and shop Eco Party Warehouse protective care (Non-contact Digital Infrared Forehead Thermometer Temperature Measurement, 3-Ply Blue Disposable Face Masks with Elastic Ear LoopKN95 Disposable Protective Face Mask with Adjustable Soft Ear Loops and 4-Layer FilterClear Lens Wide-Vision Adjustable Anti-Fog Protective Safety GogglesClear Professional Protective Face Shield Mask with Elastic Band and Comfort Sponge) now to increase your protection against the novel coronavirus keeping yourself and your loved ones out of harm’s way. Grow an Indoor Herb Garden

Life would be pretty bland without a bit of natural spice!

Nothing lightens up a meal like fresh herbs. An endless medley of aromatic, fresh herbs adds vibrant flavors and texture to every delicious specialty and makes them a brilliant addition to your carefully prepared meal, which is why you should always have some on hand. But you should stop overbuying fresh herbs only to watch them spoil in the fridge. Instead, get an indoor herb garden and grow them right inside your own home. Growing herbs indoors makes harvesting easy and is an exceptional idea if you don’t have a garden or balcony. Their taste is fantastic, they are healthy, and can be easily grown on your windowsill or kitchen countertop. It also extends the season for annual herbs so you’ll have fresh herbs all year round. Whether you want some fresh basil or you're looking to grow a whole host of herbs - you can easily turn green and become a gardening pro.

Herbs can be planted almost any time, but spring is one of the best! So if you're ready to take the plunge, then here's the best way to plant an indoor herb garden with Eco Party Warehouse you can enjoy year-round.

      - Your first step is to find the best spot for an indoor herb garden

Plants generally require a minimum of 6 hours of direct sunlight per day (the perfect spot has a bright light, but not direct sun) - this is vital for growing healthy and lush herbs. And although the ideal setting for an indoor herb garden is the kitchen, where you can snip fresh herbs and use them in dishes without skipping a beat, if you don’t have a spot in your kitchen, you can still grow herbs in any sunny room.

      - Choose your herbs

For example, parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. You can also try coriander, oregano, basil, chervil, tarragon, and mint.

      - Find the perfect pots

Almost any pot that is at least 5 inches in diameter can be used to grow herbs, as long as there are holes for drainage. Choose the largest possible pot so that the roots have as much space as possible.

      - Planting:

      1. Rake the soil level.
      2. Gently loosen plants in the chosen pots by pushing them up from the base.
      3. Handle plants by their leaves or rootball to avoid damaging their vulnerable stems.
      4. Plant so the top of the rootball is just below the soil surface.
      5. Firm in.
      6. Once planting is completed, water in.

      Harvesting:

Pick them up easily by pinching out or cut before flowering to promote bushy growth.

      Notes:

Plant each herb individually. A common mistake is to plant all of your herbs in the same pot. Each plant likes its growing conditions, and they don’t do well in the same home.

These herb garden planters will look fabulous in your kitchen (or wherever you choose to display them) and keep your meals tasting fresh all year long.

And don't forget - how food is served is just as important as how tastes. You know this. So be sure to give your guests the alluring combo of taste and vision. Prepare a delicious meal, invite your friends over and order Eco Party Warehouse fantastic tableware to complete a spectacular, Earth-safe, and comfortable dining experience.

Beautiful and Eco-friendly Mother's Day Gift Idea

Let’s face it - there is no one like Mom. And with Mother's Day right around the corner, it's a perfect time to think about how to make her feel special.  After all, Moms are a bit superhuman: they give us life, provide us a shoulder to cry on, they listen to us complains, they share their wisdom to help us navigate the world, and they praise our accomplishments since, well day one. If you think about it a little deeper, you'll find that Mother Nature does the same. Therefore, this Mother's Day, show your love and gratitude with a conscious gift that will make your Mom happy while keeping Earth happy too.

When we think of this occasion, we usually think about lively spring colors and fresh flowers. We pulled these two pieces together to create a perfect gift for your Mom that will show her just how much you appreciate everything she does! Anything made with love is a win in her eyes - that's why you can be sure that this Mother's Day DIY project will win your mom's heart and remind her how much she is loved!

Flowers are practically the default present for Mother's Day, but the global flower production industry has a massive environmental footprint, due to plastic packaging waste, the use of harsh chemicals and pesticides, and transportation emissions, that's why homegrown flowers are a much better option. So get out some paint and your little helpers, contact your local organic florist for homegrown flowers, decorate the pots with this super easy DIY project, and get ready to make a wonderful gift that is sure to put a smile on your mom's face. Simple, beautiful, and useful!

Gather Your Materials - Here’s what you’ll need:

        • Terra cotta flower pots
        • Sandpaper
        • Colorful craft paints
        • Paintbrush
        • Black marker
        • Paint Tray
        • Acrylic sealer

      Now Pull Some Inspiration:

Figure out what colors you want to use, and think about what you want to paint and write on the pot before you get started.

      Let's start:

Step 1: First of all, gently sandpaper your pot to smooth out the surfaces and then wash it with water to remove all the dust.

Step 2: Once it is dry and ready, the fun begins – get creative and paint it using your favorite colors.

Step 3: When the paint is dry – apply patterns, for example, 'MOM' (like this one) using a black marker pen and again wait a little bit for it to dry well before you paint the inside of the letters.

Step 4: You might also want to seal the pot, using a good coat of clear acrylic sealer on the surfaces, to prevent the paint from being washed out when you water it.

Step 5: After about 24 hours, it will be ready to dress your plant!

Enjoy! This little beauty will look fantastic, and your Mom will be thrilled!

Have a Backyard - Use It!

During these times, when all around us are health crisis and bad news, many of the things we used to enjoy in spring had been transformed into something else, quite difficult for humanity to handle. A short chat, a little comfort, sympathy, and hope bring happiness, which is our basic need at this point, so we would not feel just dull and empty.

What we miss in spring is not gone - it's just postponed, but meanwhile, why not try to create for ourselves a surrounding that may bring similar feelings.

In times when there's a lack of walking around and being social, life is too short to waste in worries and stress, so let’s not get depressed by these trying times, the least you can do is to liven up your festive, joyous spirits, celebrate all your upcoming festivities with style and prepare an outdoor lunch in a backyard with your family with a little help from Eco Party Warehouse natural tableware to emanate cheerful and joyous vibes all around.

Every party (even the one attended only by the closest) needs a table, decorations, ambiance, and a beautiful setting, so we prepared for you some hints that will help you provide a little joy for your loved ones:

Create a Cozy Atmosphere: By creating a casual environment for dining with a table surrounded by blankets and throw pillows, not only do they look lovely, they give a bohemian and picnic-like atmosphere, but they also give your family the option of wrapping themselves up against the cold as the temperature drops.

Serve Local Ingredients: By serving locally grown food, you reduce the carbon footprint and also ensure a fresh menu with seasonal ingredients. Green menus are increasingly popular because they taste better and also help you support your local community.

Use Natural Dinnerware: Taking your nature-inspired tabletop decoration up a notch, these token of nature will bring in that stylish and eco-friendly vibe to your backyard party. Sustainable dinnerware allows you to create stunning tablescapes that are both contemporary and biodegradable. Natural dinnerware is made of fallen palm leaves, bagasse, and birch, and is 100 percent compostable and chemical-free. Incorporate Homegrown Flowers:  If you don’t have much of a green thumb, contact your local florist for homegrown flowers. Create natural centerpieces with potted plants that can be replanted after the party.

Create a Unique Decoration: Since you’re already in the garden, you might as well make use of the supplies at hand. Plant pots are a practical way to display garden party cutlery, napkins, straws, and more – particularly when you choose dining accessories in complementary colors.

Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day

We've said many times, here at Eco Party Warehouse, that what we do is celebrate life! The Earth, being our mother, guardian, and supporter, is, in fact, the very life we are talking about. And it's the one that deserves this celebration the most.

Earth Day is more than just a single day, it’s bigger than attending a rally and taking a stand, so what we need to do is celebrate the Earth every day.  Take care of it, watch for its lungs, life, and survival very closely. Yet, among the others, one day stands out as an official Earth Day, and it's today - April 22nd.

The celebration of this day dates back to 1970. Back then, there was a protest of millions of people, all together organized against the negative impact of industrial development on the life of the planet. Many good things come out of this protest, many people, organizations, companies, etc. have started to pay attention to pollution.

With April 22nd, 2020 officially marking 50 years of celebrating Earth Day, it's more important than ever to be green. After all, even a tiny bit goes a long way when it comes to celebrate and help to save the Earth!

      - Reduce your plastic use -

Earth Day today is concentrated mostly around plastic pollution. With millions of tons of plastic floating our oceans and killing the very life of the planet we were just talking about, this needs to become the one thing that is our top priority, and the fight of our lives!

      • Replace your plastic straws with a set of Eco Party Warehouse Compostable Paper Kraft Straws — the sea turtles will thank you.
      • When it comes to your tableware, shopping eco-friendly goes a long way. Look for "green" products that are sustainably sourced and made of compostable materials. And the best place for that is, of course, Eco Party Warehouse! Trying to find a way to celebrate our Mother Earth and celebrate life, we've managed to help everybody combine two essential things, celebration, and a safe environment. To be completely natural and eco-friendly, our tableware is made using 100% biodegradable and compostable, renewable resources (palm leaf, bagasse, and birch wood), so they will regenerate themselves and help to complete the great cycle of life while providing you with the greatest possible convenience and style.
      • If you're in a DIY mood, you can also help the planet by ditching the harmful ingredients found in store-bought cleaning products and just make your own. They will be less toxic and eliminate the need for multiple plastic bottles of cleaner.

Besides plastic, here are a few more interesting ways you can imply to maintain planet earth healthy:

      • Plant a Tree - Trees are a big part of our earth, and planting one will just add to the health and wellness of the world that we live in, clean the air and give off more oxygen, among a ton of other benefits.
      • Start a Garden - Grow your own fruits or veggies, it will benefit your health and reduce the amount of fossil fuel emissions by not having to transport the food to stores.
      • Make Your Yard Creature-Friendly - Make your yard a welcoming place for local wildlife by installing bird feeders, birdhouses, a birdbath, and more.
      • Add Plants to Your Home - Bringing a little greenery into your home, besides it will beautify the space, it will also help regulate the temperature through the moisture they release into the air and reduce the energy required to heat and cool your home.
      • Leave the Car at Home - Earth Day is just a reminder of how beautiful and awesome our planet is. Take advantage of it! Save gas and spare the atmosphere a little pollution by walking, biking, or taking public transportation.
      • Go paperless - Switching all of your bills to e-bills, junk mails, catalogs, and online invoices, you can save millions of trees every single year.

Earth Day comes once a year, but these lifestyle changes could be beneficial for all the other days, as well as years to come! We only have one Earth, so let's treat her right. Don’t just leave it to Earth day! Let’s start now. And let’s never stop.
